I am a pre-service teacher currently studying a Bachelor of Education  through University of Southern Queensland.  I am in my final semester of study and have completed my entire degree whilst working full-time as a Queensland Police Officer. 

 

Having been with the Police for 14 years, I have spent the last 5 years within the Education and Training field, teaching adults.  My duties saw me training and assessing first year constables through to teaching officers Firearms and Taser skills.

 

The transition to teaching is due to a shift in goals, where I would like to have more of an impact and make more of a difference to lives from an earlier age.  In the Police, we are often reactive however with teaching, it is very much a proactive difference you can make.
